What is the meaning of the Other Organizational Units field?

Organizational units, Access rights

Updated over 4 months ago

Explanation

The “Other organizational units” field can be found in all documents (processing activities, external recipients) in caralegal.

It is a multiple selection field.

People assigned to these organizational units will have read access to this document. If processing is to be carried out by another organizational unit, you can create a copy of this processing activity.

An example

  • The user Barbara Basic is a standard user from the area

    • Caratraining > Cara GmbH > Marketing

  • Barbara logically has read and write access to all activities of her unit

  • Her colleague, Sammy Standard, from the area

    • Caratraining > Cara GmbH > HR wants Barbara to have read access to the processing activity "Employee assessment". Barbara also carries out this activity, as do all the other team leads in the company

  • Since Sammy Standard cannot make this setting due to his organizational unit, Alex Admin, who can see and edit all units, will now add

    • Caratraining > Cara GmbH > Marketing as an additional organizational unit.

  • From now on, Barbara has read access to the processing activity "Employee assessment".

  • She cannot edit them, but could:

    • Copy this processing activity in the overview

    • Create a task in this activity via the Tasks tab (NOT for individual fields!)
